Elizabeth Taylor’s First Wedding Dress Could Nab $75,000 at Auction

Elizabeth Taylor’s diamond collection was famous, but the Oscar winner also had quite the stockpile of wedding gowns.

In fact, the eight-time bride’s first dress is now expected to fetch up to $75,500 at a Christie’s auction in London on June 26.

The one-of-a-kind gown was originally worn by an 18-year-old Taylor at her 1950 wedding to first husband Conrad Hilton. Created by legendary costume designer Helen Rose (who designed Grace Kelly’s iconic wedding gown), the satin dress featured bugle beads, tiny seed pearls and a 15-yard train. The intricate gown also had a built in corset which accented the star’s tiny 20 inch waist on her big day.

The matching veil, which topped Taylor’s head 63 years ago, was made of sparkling silk illusion that was attached to a pearl-covered Juliet cap.
