Trend Watch: Mellow Yellow set to Brighten up Weddings this Spring

Yellow, might be the colour of fear and probably not the first colour you think of when planning a wedding. However, as yellow made its way down the New York Fashion Week catwalk this Spring/Summer, the colour is set to trail blaze the aisle for many UK brides this season.

In what it is believed to be the biggest wedding survey of its kind, the Great British Wedding survey, carried out by Country House Wedding Venues, revealed that out of 10,000 couple’s asked, yellow was the 10th most popular colour last year, with it predicated to rise to be 2015’s biggest climber.

When it comes to weddings, soft pastels, creams and ivories are usually popular choices, but 2015 marks the year were bold colours are set to trail blaze wedding themes up and down the UK.

As divisive as yellow is, brides will be incorporating the colour into their wedding wherever they can, from dresses, to flowers and centre pieces.

Carolina Herrera incorporated pastel yellows into her Spring/Summer collections, unveiled at the New York Fashion Week. Known for her feminine silhouettes in her bridal designs, the latest collection took a refreshingly contemporary approach, mixing geisha styles into the main collection with a fusion of light pastels and yellow tones.

Diana Hastie gives her top tips on how you can incorporate yummy yellows and luscious lemons into your wedding to stay on trend, no matter what time of year it is, by following these inspirational tips:
