10 Tips For Your Wedding Day Hair Style

When choosing your hairstyle you need to consider what fits you and your personality.  Your personality might dictate that you have some “bling” in your hair such as a pretty pin or fancy tiara.

How do you ensure that you will have the hair style that’s right for you?  Let’s look at some practicle tips to help you.

1)  Before your wedding day be sure to try a variety of styles and see how they look and feel.    You might go in thinking about one style and find that it doesn’t look at all like you expected.  The time to find that out is well in advance of your wedding.  Remember the more details you can check off your list the better off you will be.

2) Having this trial run will also help you in deciding on your hair stylist.  At one of our weddings the bride did not follow this advice.  As soon as the stylist started working on her hair she knew she was in trouble.  The bride wound up doing her own hair!

3)  Next ask yourself if you want to have a hair stylist on your wedding day or do you want to do it yourself.  If there is a hairstylist you know and love be sure to book them right away.   There’s nothing worse than having your heart set on someone and then finding out another bride has already booked them!

4)  Be sure to let your hair stylist know what your wedding dress looks like as this can influence her suggestions to you as to what best suits your personality and the personality of your dress.

5)  Backup plans are important even when it comes to your hair stylist so make sure someone else from the salon can and will step in should the need arise.   This backup hair stylist needs to know what your hair style will be so that it will be precisely what you are looking for.

6)  An excellent idea is to have photos taken on your trial run so that if need be you can show them to your backup hair stylist.

7)   Do not cut your hair right before you wedding. It may be a decision you will regret right away so think long and hard before doing this.

8)   Do not change the color of your hair right before you wedding.  Remember  you will be looking at photographs for many many years to come.  You want them to be timeless and priceless.  There’s always time to cut or dye your hair after your wedding.

9)    Lastly call your hairstylist  the week before the wedding  as well as the day before to make sure that everything is still in place.

10)  If  you are having a beach wedding chances are your hair will not stay in place especially if it’s windy.  You are in an outdoor environment and it can’t be controlled.  Having long flowing hair on the beach may or may not be right for you.  As with the other suggestions go out on the beach with your hair and see what happens and how you feel.  This could make you make a wise decision.

Follow these suggestions and your hair will look fabulous as all eyes and cameras will focus on you!

Have a happy wedding planning experience!
